In 2007, my wife and I built a large addition to our Bridgewater home and started a Day Care called Day Care Plus. Providing child care services has turned out to be an outstanding business opportunity. It's highly rewarding, long lasting and generally insensitive to changes in the economy. Let's face it, whether times are good or bad, working parents with infant, toddler and preschool children need year-round, quality child care.
I know many parents who quit their day job to start a Home Day Care (also known as Family Child Care). Between the money they save not having to send their own children to someone else's Day Care and the money they earn providing child care services for other parents, they actually make more money than they did as an employee. Not to mention the gas they save not having to commute to work.
If they can do it, you can too! All you need to get started is at least one year of "full-time" experience caring for children (Note: The children you cared for can be yours or someone else's. Also, training in Early Childhood Education & Parenthood is considered experience).
